Giving Opportunities

There are over 800 verses in the Bible about money, so how we spend the money God entrusts to us matters to Him.  He’s given us lots of instructions with regards to money:  take care of your family; leave an inheritance for your children’s children; avoid debt; diversify your investments because you don’t know what might happen; and probably most importantly – be generous.

Asbury is pleased to offer several convenient giving methods.  Consider taking advantage of one of these easy giving options as you give your tithes and offerings to the Lord through Asbury.

Weekend Services

As an act of praise and worship, tithes and offerings may be presented during each weekend service.  Simply place cash or check (payable to Asbury UMC) in the collection basket or plate as it is passed.  In order to document your contributions for tax purposes, please put your contributor number on the check or on a contribution envelope with cash.  It is not necessary to use a contribution envelope for a check.  For assistance with your contributor number, e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Online Giving

For many, electronic financial transactions are a way of life.  Asbury recognizes this and is pleased to offer online giving.  While this can have advantages, we want each person who chooses this option to make sure they are giving in a spirit that is pleasing to the Lord. While there are several ways to give electronically to the General Budget and Asbury Future, including automatic withdrawal from checking or savings accounts, debit cards and credit cards, we ask you not to use a credit card.  Since financial institutions cannot distinguish between debit and credit cards online, we cannot accept debit cards without also accepting credit cards.  Proverbs 22:7 says “… the borrower is servant to the lender”.  We do not promote going into debt in order to give your tithes and offerings to the church.

Your contribution can be set up as a one-time or recurring gift.  Online giving is not only easy, but safe and secure.
