United Methodist Women (UMW)
At Asbury, United Methodist Women (UMW) is a community of women who nurture and encourage one another in their spiritual growth, personal leadership and transformation. Members accept the challenge to expand concepts of mission. Out of a commitment for mission locally and globally with women, children and youth, United Methodist Women choose to participate in meetings, prayer, financial giving, study, action and service.
Here at Asbury, the four UMW circles have engaged in a number of mission project which include, but are not limited to: Missions Trip to Urban Ministries in Birmingham, salvation bracelets for mission trips, work in the Asbury Food Pantry, work in the Asbury Community Thrift Store, provide lunches for Christian Women’s Job Corp, assemble UMCOR kits, prepare Easter baskets for Hope Place, purchase supplies for Royal Family Kid’s Camp and the Harvest Youth Club. Funds raised through Sweet Support benefit several Asbury mission partners and ministries.
