Being in a covenantal relationship with God and the body of Christ is an incredible privilege and sacred responsibility. Jesus said that just as we have freely received we should freely give (Matthew 10:8). We are never more in the will of God than when we give to grow the Kingdom of God. Everything thing we have, including our money, is a gift from God. Because it is scriptural, Asbury teaches the principle of tithing (giving 10% of one’s income to the church) to its members. Offerings are above the tithe and allow us to express our generosity beyond the minimum. Not only do we encourage our members to tithe, we offer help for persons to align their finances to get out of debt and be in a position to be able to give more to the work of our Lord Jesus.
